Touch-up is designed to fill, smooth, and color small damaged areas. This helps make scratches and worn spots look as best a possible without actually refinishing.
Touch-up involves:
-
Identifying damaged areas
-
Filling any scratched/damaged areas that are compatible using the appropriate filler
-
Smoothing the area
-
Mixing small amounts of finish and powdered dyes to match background, foreground, grain, and any other colors by eye, as close as possible
-
Using a small art paintbrush, apply color in layers, employing special techniques to attempt to duplicate existing colors, graining, and textures
-
Blending area
-
Polishing is available after all touch-up has dried sufficiently
